Breakfast
* Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
*Eating breakfast will help you focus in school, give you energy to play on the play ground, and help your body grow.
* Be sure to fuel your body with some of these healthy meals for Healthy Kids Club members!
MEAL #1: The Breakfast Burrito
2 scrambled eggs with light shredded & melted cheese all rolled up in a whole wheat tortilla and topped with your favorite salsa. Don’t forget a glass of O.J to go with it.
Lunch
* Lunch can be the most exciting part of the day for members of the Healthy Kids Club.
* It’s a time to re-fuel, giving us the energy we need to get through the rest of the day.
MEAL #2: A Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich
Take 2 large spoonfuls of all natural peanut butter and spread them on 2 slices of whole wheat bread. Then slice up 1 banana and stick them right onto the peanut butter. Next, slap the two pieces of bread together and wah-la! Enjoy with a tall glass of skim milk and some crunchy baby carrots.
Dinner
* Help out mom & dad in the kitchen and be your very own Healthy Kids Club chef.
* Follow these menu ideas or create your own. Make creating meals for dinner a fun activity your whole family can enjoy.
MEAL # 3: Healthy, Hearty Mac ‘N Cheese
Boil a whole box of whole wheat macaroni noodles. Pour cooked noodles into a large casserole dish and mix in cooked broccoli and shredded chicken. Cover with lots of light shredded cheese. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees until cheese is melted, golden brown, and bubbly. Don’t forget the glass of chocolate milk to go with it!
